Roulette Rules
The Object of the Game
The winning number is determined by where a ball comes to rest in one of the numbered compartments after being spun in a roulette wheel. The object is to correctly predict the winning number (or some feature(s) of the winning number) before the ball comes to rest.
How to Play the Game
The Bets
Bets are placed directly on the roulette table, which has squares numbered from 0 to 36 (the inside bets) plus some other special squares (the outside bets). You may bet on as many squares as you like, wagering on any individual square or in combinations of two, three, four, or six numbered squares. Each bet must be made in accordance with the minimum and maximum table limits, which vary from table to table. Players must place and confirm their bets before the end of the betting period, which ends when the croupier announces "No more bets."
The Play
During the betting period, the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and the roulette ball in the other. Bets may be made at any time during the betting period, but must be confirmed before the end of the betting period, which ends when the croupier announces "No more bets." Once bets are confirmed, no more bets may be made until the next betting period.
At some point after the conclusion of the betting period, the ball slows and comes to rest. Shortly after, the winning number is announced and marked. The table is cleared of all losing wagers, and then the winners are paid. Once the table is completely clear, the croupier announces the beginning of the next betting period.

In addition, the letters beside each bet type can be found on the diagrams below, giving an example of how to make that type of bet. (In the case of the oh-one-two, oh-two-three, and first four bets, the top diagram indicates the only place that bets may be made.)
